Chinese New Year – also known as the Spring Festival – marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. Chinese New Year is celebrated by over a fourth of the world’s population and this year, the holiday falls on February 1, 2022. For centuries, China has identified the new year with 12 symbolic animals. For 2022, we welcome the Year of the Tiger! 

There are many fascinating traditions around this ancient holiday including parades, street fairs, and fireworks. Another tradition is New Year’s Eve dinner, also known as the reunion dinner, which is celebrated on January 31.
