A new smokehouse and beer garden is coming to Downtown Novato. The name of the restaurant is Blazers, located at 7380 Redwood Blvd. There will be indoor & outdoor dining, plus live music on most weekends. Owners Keri & Erick Hendricks anticipate opening doors to the public in May.
Raised in Texas and Kansas, Keri says she is thrilled to bring her love for southern barbecue to Novato.
“What’s important to us is the experience when it comes to our food and service,” Keri said. “We have worked hard on delicious southern dishes. We have an amazing smoker outside that gives an excellent smoke flavor and a tender, juicy meal.”
Everything at Blazers is house-made and crafted by their own recipes thanks to their amazing Chef Dustin Vorkoeper. Blazers menu features smoked chicken, pulled pork, beef brisket, and barbecue ribs. Plus, various salads, sandwiches, and traditional appetizers with a blazin’ twist. There will also be options for those who are gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian.
“A lot of the barbecue will be implemented into salads and sandwiches with a twist, of course, and with some bourbon barbecue sauce,” Keri shared. “We have an awesome mustard barbecue sauce that just blows your socks right out of your shoes. Then we have a black bean burger with flavors as big as Texas without the bull.”
In terms of drinks, Blazers will have wine ready to order, 12 kegs on tap ranging from IPAs, lagers & pilsners, plus ciders and kombuchas. Happy Hours will take place Wednesday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring various entrees, appetizers, and drink specials during that time.
For desserts, there will be delicious chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches and warm brownie ice cream sundaes with house caramel, topped with sprinkles and candied pecans.
Live music will be a big part of the Blazers experience, owners plan to have live music outside on most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Going by their new motto, Alright, Alright, Alright, owners of Blazers want customers to feel as though they’re walking into an environment of culture and happiness.
“We want Blazers to be a relaxing environment where everybody can come and feel welcomed because we’re all about the service,” Keri said.
