Downtown Novato’s newest retail store, Wild Fennel, puts emphasis on heirloom-quality pieces

Wild Fennel, Downtown Novato’s newest retail addition features a range of items for those looking to elevate their home and give unique gifts made to last more than a lifetime.

Owner, Anna Sheehy, focuses on finding artists and makers who create heirloom quality home and garden pieces handmade primarily in California to help bring her store to life.

Similar to how Wild Fennel grows all over California, Anna has California artists’ items up for sale all over her store.

Wild Fennel features over 70 artists and makers pursuing their passions making products sustainably by hand in the United States – more than half of whom are doing so in California.

Anna and her husband have been admirers of handmade stores for many years. And after working night and day for five years, they were ready to sell their restaurant in Fairfax, Más Masa, and work on other passions.

“I’m committed to sustainable practices,” Anna shared. “With this store, and in my life, I think about the earth every step of the way. I want to bring that into the conversation when people come into Wild Fennel.”

At Wild Fennel, Anna hopes customers will come in and learn that there are options to beautify their home and their life – without asking so much of the earth and the people who make the products.

The store stocks a range of items, both practical and decorative, including blankets and tablecloths, children’s clothes, hand-woven baskets, silk pillowcases, sculptural vessels, ceramics and pottery.

Wild Fennel, located at 818 Grant Ave, Novato, is open Wednesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keep up with Wild Fennel on their Instagram or website.
