Easter Sunday is almost here, and it’s shaping up to be a perfect weekend for shopping, dining, and spending time with the ones you love. Easter brunch is one of our favorite traditions, so we were excited to find out that Finnegan’s Marin is offering reservations for Easter brunch and for hot and ready-to-go Easter dinners including honey baked ham, candied carrots & butternut squash, and white cheddar roasted garlic mashed potatoes! Other local favorites serving brunch on Easter include Beso Bistro, Crave, Toast, Creekside Bakery, and Hopmonk Tavern. Easter brunch tables are in high demand, so don’t forget to make reservations in advance!
After brunch, take your little ones on an easter “egg” scavenger hunt in any of Novato’s parks — Arroyo Avichi, Hamilton Amphitheater, Hillside, Hoog Park, Pioneer Park, South Hamilton, and Stafford Grove. The Easter Bunny has left some colorful painted rock “eggs” ready to be found. Post your findings on social media, then leave the rocks where you found them for others to enjoy!
If you’re planning to have your own Easter egg hunt at home, you can find Easter egg decorating kits at Target in Vintage Oaks. For something other than candy to fill your eggs with, stop by Five Little Monkeys for small toys and trinkets your kids will love. Plus, now through April 3rd, you can get $5 off a purchase of $35 or more!
For an extra special treat, you can pre-order Teeny Cake’s goodies Easter basket, festive Easter cake, or the adorable cookie decorating Easter basket (can also be made gluten free!). Speaking of gluten free, March 31st is the last day to pre-order treats from Flour Chylde’s gluten-free spring menu. Choose from dairy-free cinnamon rolls, spring bouquet lemon cupcakes, spring cookie decorating kit, or a breakfast kit which includes dry waffle mixes and apple cider maple syrup!
This is also a perfect weekend to brighten someone’s day with spring flowers! Novato has plenty of great florists to choose from and to support. Pick up springtime tulips or a joyful spring centerpiece from San Marin Flowers on San Marin Drive. On Grant Avenue, Morning Glory Florist has a whole array of Easter flowers, including the Springtime’s Here Bouquet. Both of these florists are closed on Sundays, so be sure to order and pick up your arrangements early! Some other wonderful Novato florists include Alondra’s Flowers (also closed on Sundays) and Natalie & Daria’s Flowers & Gifts (open on Sundays).
Whether you plan to venture out on the town or organize something fun at home, we hope you’ll think local on Easter Sunday!
