Did you know 66% of Americans drink coffee every day, which is more than tap water? Whether you’re apart of that 66% or not, we suspect many more may be downing a cup of joe today to celebrate National Coffee Day. So it makes sense that this beloved beverage would have its very own National Day. Below we have listed six local Novato coffee shops sure to keep you properly caffeinated today.
Creekside Bakery: On the corner of Grant and 7th, you’ll find Creekside Bakery, a charming spot to grab a delicious golden milk latte and a signature cake (we love the Princess cake), pastry, or a buttery breakfast sandwich. Open Wednesday-Friday from 7am-3pm and Saturday-Sunday from 9am-3pm.
Dr. Insomniac’s Fine Coffee, Tea, & Smoothies: Voted Best Coffee Shop in Marin for several years, this coffee shop is located on Grant Avenue and boasts some seriously comfortable outdoor seating if you’re looking for an extra dose of vitamin D and caffeine. Also known as home of the ‘Scuffin’, a scone-muffin mash-up. Dr. Insomniac’s is a great place to pick up tea and smoothies as well.
Marin Coffee Roasters: With two convenient Novato locations, you can find Marin Coffee Roasters on South Novato Boulevard and Ignacio Boulevard! Offering a variety of roasts and blends, and of course seasonal (hello pumpkin spice) specialty drinks. Since 1996, this family-owned business has been dedicated to serving specialty coffee and preserving a small community feel.
Trailhead: Head over to San Marin Plaza anytime between 6am-8pm for some Marin-based Equator Coffees drip and espresso. While breakfast is served until 11am, coffee at Trailhead is poured all day long. After 11am, the menu switches to small bites and delicious sandwiches, sausages, and salads.
Flour Chylde Bakery: Home to delicious gluten-free goodies and cozy coffee drinks, you’ll find Flour Chylde Bakery on Grant Avenue. Open Monday from 9am-2pm, and Tuesday through Saturday from 9am-4pm pick up some delicious Red Whale Coffee and gluten-free treats — baked on-site every day!
Rustic Bakery: Open daily from 7am-3pm on Grant Avenue, Rustic Bakery has hot and iced coffee plus freshly baked pastries! Available for pickup or delivery, you’re sure to find the perfect morning or early afternoon treat.
