Made Local Marketplace Brings Local Artisans and Unique Finds to Downtown Novato

Downtown Novato is welcoming a new addition to its vibrant shopping scene: Made Local Marketplace, a beloved North Bay hub for artisan goods, handcrafted gifts, and locally made treasures. Located at 881 Grant Avenue in the historic First National Bank building, and what was formerly known as Mantra Wines, the shop is set to become a community gathering spot where creativity and local spirit come together. After nearly 15 years of supporting small makers in Santa Rosa, owner Willow Peterson is bringing the concept to Marin County.

Made Local Marketplace is more than just a shop – it’s a launchpad for local makers. Vendors throughout Marin and the North Bay sell on a consignment basis, with 50% of proceeds going directly back to the artists and small businesses. This model creates a space where creativity flourishes, while shoppers enjoy access to thoughtfully curated, one-of-a-kind products that aren’t found in big-box stores. From hand-poured candles and jewelry to artisan foods, art, and home décor, Made Local Marketplace offers a wide range of items perfect for gift-giving or simply treating yourself.

Peterson’s vision extends beyond retail. As part of the North Bay Made initiative, the Marketplace plays a role in strengthening the regional economy. By connecting artisans, growers, and manufacturers across six North Bay counties, the project highlights the power of collaboration and the importance of shopping local. Each purchase supports not only the maker behind the product but also contributes to a stronger, more sustainable regional economy. For customers, that means every item carries a story of community, craftsmanship, and local pride.

Shoppers can look forward to the opportunity to explore new vendors and meet some of the creative talents behind the products. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Made Local Marketplace will be an easy stop for anyone exploring downtown Novato. Whether you’re picking up a unique gift, looking to support small businesses, or simply curious about what Marin’s artisans have to offer, this new shop promises to be a must-visit destination.
