Love it or hate it, we are a nation of chocolate eaters. In fact, Statista reported that 268 million Americans consumed chocolate and other candy in 2020. That’s a lot of chocolate! But with all the different ways to consume it, we can’t help but think chocolate cake may take the cake (pun intended!).
In honor of National Chocolate Cake Day, we wanted to show some love to one of Novato’s favorite local bakeries and most prolific chocolate cake creators — Creekside Bakery.
Family owned and operated in the heart of downtown Novato on Grant Avenue, Creekside Bakery has an impressive range of full-size chocolate cakes! There’s German Chocolate, with toasted coconut filling and dark chocolate buttercream frosting. There’s Black Forest, kirsch-soaked chocolate cake filled with cherry filling and covered in whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
And one of our all-time favorites is Red Velvet — chocolate vanilla cake filled and iced with cream cheese frosting. For those with dietary restrictions, Creekside Bakery also offers a rich vegan chocolate cake with coconut ganache and a flourless chocolate torte.
Open for takeout and pick up Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm, and Saturday/Sunday, 9am-3pm, Creekside Bakery is here for all your chocolatey sweet cravings on National Chocolate Cake Day and beyond. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it should be top of mind for treats for your sweetie!
In addition to cakes and desserts, Creekside Bakery offers delicious brunch and lunch menus. Think savory sourdough waffles, breakfast sandwiches, quiches, and shakshuka. Mmm! We’re so glad to have this gem in our neighborhood, and we hope you’ll treat yourself with a visit to Creekside Bakery today!
