Concert curator and promoter KC Turner brings his popular Cookout Concert Series back to the HopMonk Tavern with a packed calendar of outdoor concerts in the popular brewpub’s scenic beer garden. The all-ages shows offer music lovers the opportunity to mix good music with craft ales, tasty eats and the kind of early-evening beer garden ambience that makes for great summer memories.
“It’s a KC Turner Presents musical-playground in the gorgeous HopMonk Novato Beer Garden from June till October,” notes KC, the man with a well-deserved reputation for excellence in concert curation. “Enjoy great live music, tasty food and fresh craft beer in the warm Marin Summer air under the oak trees. This outdoor venue is one of my favorite spots to experience a concert, and it’s perfect for all ages! In addition to the concerts, you can enjoy the cookout meal deal: an optional add-on to your ticket that includes the tasty cookout meal + adult beverage. And yes, vegetarian/non-alcoholic options are available!”
The season kicks off on Sunday June 2nd, with award-winning mother/daughter combo Suzzy Roche & Lucy Wainwright Roche. Suzzy is a founding member of The Roches, while Lucy (daughter of Loudon Wainwright, brother of Rufus and Martha) is known for her crystal clear voice, humorous stage presence and insightful, melodic songwriting. Throughout the season, doors open at 5pm for a 6pm showtime (the October 13th date with Steve Poltz starts an hour earlier). Fans of KC’s concert picks will recognize plenty of familiar favorites like Megan Slankard, Alejandro Escovedo and John Doe, and the big-name double-bill of Cracker and Camper Van Beethoven on July 27th is sure to be a particularly popular event.
