Craving a sweet treat? Stop in at teeny cake boutique bakery where small bites equal big taste. For the past five years, owner and self-taught baker Michelle Mahoney has been cranking out delicious, bite-sized gourmet cupcakes to a devout following at the Marin Civic Center and Novato farmers’ markets.
Fans of her miniature cupcakes have been clamoring for more, so Mahoney recently opened her first brick and mortar retail location in downtown Novato at 7400 Redwood Boulevard (#101). The “industrial chic” space combines high design with a grey and aubergine palate and plenty of indoor/patio seating. A large separate party and event space off the main room can be reserved for private bookings beginning in October 2014. Party packages will be available.
In addition to their ten daily cupcake flavors, teeny cake features special “weekender” delights like Salted Butterscotch, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Cookies & Cream as well as seasonal offerings (think Pumpkin in October and Eggnog-Caramel for the holidays). You’ll also find traditional-size cupcakes, a daily gluten-free option, cookies, muffins, and “celebration” cakes. Special orders are gladly accepted and delivery is available in most areas of Marin County.
Patrons will love the full-service coffee and tea bar featuring blends from local Equator coffee, Mighty Leaf, and Silk Road Tea along with fresh-from-the-oven breakfast pastries including a Cherry-Almond Scone and Cracked Pepper Biscuit.
