Part-owner and executive chef Victor Viera, opened his second location of Golden Gate Bistro in what’s formally known as Blazers Smokehouse & Beer Garden in Downtown Novato. Golden Gate Bistro serves American-Italian cuisine with favorites such as clam chowder and a California BLT omelet in the morning, wood-grilled cheeseburgers, Caesar salad, and short rib gnocchi during lunch or dinner. Live music will take place in the outdoor patio area with more traditional hi-top and low-top seating replaces the picnic table set up from Blazers. Golden Gate Bistro is open daily from 10am to 9pm.
Located at 957 Front Street in Downtown Novato, you’ll find a new gym ran by trainer and coach Glenda Garay. Different from a traditional gym, G Active Fit offers personal training, dance classes such as group cardio dance and JMG dance, plus choreography for weddings and Quinceañeras. For years, Glenda worked to master the art of movement and dove deep into the world of fitness. She founded G Active Fit with a mission to empower individuals to embrace their unique journey to wellness. The focus is not about repetitions and routines, it’s about fostering a community, a family, where support and encouragement reign supreme, Glenda says.
Ranked the number one chicken sandwich in California by Yelp, World Famous Hot Boys opened in Novato’s Hamilton Marketplace shopping center in July. In 2017, World Famous Hot Boys had their first backyard pop-up serving up award-winning chicken sandwiches with a nod to Nashville. The Hot Boys menu now includes favorites like their ‘Swamp Fries’ krinkle cut fries topped with fried chicken, spices, collard greens, and money sauce; Pimento Mac and Cheese; and ‘Bonuts’ two fried biscuit donuts, shaken with sugar and cinnamon spice. Their menu is inspired by the comforting flavours of the owners’ childhood. Don’t forget to ask about the secret ‘HOT HOT HOT’ challenge! World Famous Hot Boys is located at 5800 Nave Drive Suite D, Novato. They’re open Sunday – Thursday from 10am to 10pm; Friday and Saturday from 10am to 11pm.
