Going to lunch may look a little different this year, but there are plenty of wonderful local spots with outdoor dining, take-out, and limited indoor seating, so you can be sure to enjoy this sweet national day with Mom and/or Dad.
Fall is the perfect time for comfort food, and Novato has no shortage! With its grand opening just one month ago, Jerrys Delicatessen & BBQ serves mouthwatering ribs and sandwiches, tender and juicy meats smoked low and slow, and classic sides like baked beans, mac & cheese, and onion rings. Enjoy a laid-back lunch on Jerrys’ outdoor patio, and make sure you check out the great live music lineup on the weekends!
Speaking of live music on the weekends, you’ll find HopMonk Tavern Novato on Vintage Way, which offers fresh draft beers, a full bar, and classic entrees like fish & chips, fried chicken, and pulled pork sandwiches. Recently crowned Novato Chamber’s “Small Business of the Year,” Beso Bistro uses locally sourced organic produce and the freshest sustainable seafood available. Mom and Dad are sure to love the diverse selection of wine (with over 20 wines available by the glass) and the charming outdoor patio!
Over on Ignacio Boulevard with a beautiful patio of its own, you’ll find Crave, farm-to-table California cuisine with craft cocktails to match! Crave will debut its brand-new lunch service beginning October 14th (what are the chances?!), from 11:30am-2:30pm, so there will definitely be a celebratory energy in the air to make your parents feel extra special.
For all those sushi-loving parents out there, Masa’s Sushi offers traditional sashimi, nigiri, and maki, along with an array of appetizers for take-out and delivery. Owner and Michelin Star chef Takatoshi Toshi’s world-renowned chef skills are sure to impress Mom and Dad.
On the corner of Grant and 7th, Creekside Bakery will be serving lunch and fresh baked goods for takeout from 7am-3pm. Pick up a delicious levain toast, soup, or salad to enjoy at home or on Creekside Bakery’s spacious patio. Don’t forget to grab something sweet for dessert!
For a quick and casual lunch favorite, check out JJ’s Burger Joint on Novato Boulevard. Family owned and operated, JJ’s serves charbroiled, hand-pressed burgers and other delicious grilled items. JJ’s is open for take-out and limited indoor seating from 11am-8pm.
